Isabella's Vineyard Chardonnay
Wine
Rochford Isabella's Vineyard Chardonnay is grown a stone's throw away from the winery on ancient, rocky soils. It is situated on the eastern end of a contour home to some of the Yarra Valley's most celebrated vineyards.
The fruit is handpicked, crushed and pressed with full solids straight to French oak barrels. Around one third of the oak is new. Both primary and malolactic fermentation take place naturally.
The wine develops in oak on lees for 10 months. It is then racked and blended in preparation for bottling.
Pale yellow green, Rochford Isabella's Vineyard Chardonnay is long and textural, with dense fruit flavours bound by taut, racy acidity. Cellaring potential is eight years.
